I feel many people are not discussing a core aspect. A versus theme. Every Danganronpa game focuses on a versus theme. DR THH: Hope vs Despair DR GD: Present vs Future or past I guess? DR KH: Truth Vs Lies In Danganronpa Undertale Yellow, it makes sense the story will revolve around Justice vs Judgment. With Clover being a hidden protagonist mastermind and each participant dealing with justice and judgment. Danganronpa Yellow's Partners, Protagonists and Antagonists Clover: Soul of Justice Ed: Seeks injustice by trying to defeat the mastermind but is reckess in his judgment Moray: Skeptical about Clover and they are judgmental to him Macro Froggit: Seeks justice for the loss of the others but were too reckless Ace: Is starting to be skeptical around Clover and believes he is responsible. Seeks justice and judgment for the loss of Starlo, Ed, and Moray. Flowey: Revels in the ultimate judgment Clover conceived the game. Decides to join in on the fun and punish those for sheer sadism. Meanwhile in Undertale I believe this theme should be Determination vs Perseverance. Every monster and human (Frisk) have something they are determined to. In my eyes it makes sense this game relies on determination and its possible Gaster chosed specific monsters to hold it. There's no way a monster like Doggo, So Sorry, or others hold the determiation, because they aren't as ambitious. In my mind I believe the reason why Sans survived was because despite being lazy he has hidden determination to survive. After all if someone messes with his brother, you dæmṅ right he is determined. Sans: Was able to keep his cool but faltered after the demises of his friends. Nevertheless, the loss of Papyrus causes him to stay determined. Toriel: Tries to be the heart of the group. But she ends Asgore her ex husband and used her determination too much. Mettaton: Revels in the determination and enjoys the galore of the game. However is secretly terrified and tries to protect Alphys' secret, losses his determination because Frisk's power was more terrifying than his. Papyrus: Tries to stay determined and stay positive. But he is unable to survive due to his determination on believing those can redeem and do good. Monster Kid: Determination to survive the game after being suspicioud on him being connected to Goner Kid. Was more desperate in survival so he failed. Burgerpants: Determined by despising life and wanting the game to end already. Despite being cynical, he was able to defeat Flowey's plans. Gaster: Determined to see the experiment and its results. Overall I believe in Deltaruneronpa maybe the theme for it is Free Will vs Autonomy or something like that?
